Our Story:
When I left for a gap year between high school and university I could have never expected where my experiences would take me. As a nervous, young American girl I applied for an internship working with students in Germany - and although I had never been to the country nor spoke any German I was one of three participants selected to be an Admissions Intern and work in German high schools and universities.
That one internship in Germany blossomed into another and this time I was an Education Intern and able to focus more on getting to know the German school system, students and community on a more personal level. The experiences that I had working with refugee and migrant students as well as their families during my time in Germany completely changed the trajectory of my life.
I now am a junior in college, that first internship almost three years behind me, but the students I met and the experiences I had stick with me always. I may now speak German, and live in between New Hampshire and Berlin but, I have not forgotten what it was like to live in a new place, not understand the language nor the culture and have to navigate it alone.
This website was created so that students, parents, teachers and advocates can come together to learn about resources available to them, know their rights and receive support when they need it most. I look forward to helping students find their paths, open doors to opportunities and let them know the future belongs to them!
